RE: Wiki Outage - VirusZero - 10-21-2012 01:37 AM Just for a quick heads up anyone trying to access EF's wiki... Our web host is experiencing heavy DDoS attacks right now so our wiki is down. The only estimate they have is that it'll be back in 6 hours (for those routed through that server's IP... But for those hosted on that server it might be longer. Unfortunately we're hosted on an affected server so there isn't much I can do.) - Silver Stryker - 10-22-2012 01:01 AM woooooow, I didn't even know we HAD a wiki. badass! cool, I wanna jot stuff down now. - VirusZero - 10-22-2012 01:10 AM It's something I'd been working on for a while but only really announced about a month or so ago. (The announcement was here.) (The wiki's link is here.) The wiki is also back up and running now. The DDoS attack is over and server functions have been restored. Though let me know if you have trouble accessing it. - randomdrifter865 - 10-22-2012 03:42 AM Still having trouble accessing it and we already disscussed this so really it has to be my broswer both chrome and IE is having this problem. Its like endlessly loading and never leading me anywhere even through links of any kind at this point I am gonna have to keep my own records till I use a different broswer that wants to cooperate or till the next blue moon occurs. It doesn't frustrate me really ,but it is annoying when you cannot access for whatever the reason because that wiki has been helpful for me understanding the other parts of stories and certain characters intill now. - VirusZero - 10-22-2012 02:39 PM Both browsers doesn't necessarily mean it's your computer at all. There could be something on this host's end. They have firewalls and sometimes innocent people's IPs get caught up in them. So your IP may have been caught by their firewall and is blocking you. Which if this is the case no computer you use from your home IP would be able to connect at all (since they all would be connecting with that one IP). So to rule out whether it's your IP blocked from their end or it's your computer itself, do you have another computer (on the same network) you can try it on? If so could you do that and let me know how it goes. If you still can't connect, I'll open a support ticket and get them to look into this situation. - randomdrifter865 - 10-22-2012 11:40 PM Well there is my dads and my first computer old betsy ,but both cannot connect worth a darn anymore so I am stuck with my laptop. |
