Is E3 relevant now?
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 for short) used to be a massive thing years ago. But in the last few years is it worth it now?

Not too long ago Nintendo pulled out of E3 to offer it's own line of Nintendo Directs, which happened right around the time of E3... but then happened more frequently afterwards.

Sony too started doing more at other times of the year. (With things like State of Play and Playstation Experience or even Gamescom.) And just this year dropped out of E3 also.

So far only Microsoft is left of the big 3 hardware producers.

But is it time for E3 to change or even go away?

I mean news can happen at the blink of an eye now and keeping things secret for E3 has grown ever harder with eagle eyed reporters and people within companies leaking details early. So with that in mind should E3 stop trying to be the place for new game reveals and become a giant convention? Or should it soldier on as is?
