RE: The Reputation System
What is the reputation system?

The Reputation system is a modification to the basic forum that allows users to give their opinion on each other either's actions/posts as good or bad (depending on the person being rated's actions or inactions.)

It can be used to leave comments about the user as well. Though don't use the rating system in an abusive manner. (Such as to leave hateful comments on people's profiles or that sort of thing.)

How does the reputation system work?
To give reputation:
1- Click on the user's name to go to their profile.
2- In the left hand side of the forum, under their name, in the section marked: "Reputation:" you'll see:
Quote:# [Details] [Rate]
3- Click the [Rate] link.
4- A popup will open where you select how much to increase/decrease their reputation, as well as you'll be asked for a reason for the rating, this is optional.
5- Once you've filled it (or not) click "Add rating" at the bottom of the page to apply the rate.

Alternatively, when viewing a topic...
Beside each of their posts, underneath their join date, you'll see:
Quote:Rep: <current rep level>
From here you can click that number to be take to their reputation page.
In the top right, there is a "Rate" user button, click that.
A popup will open where you select how much to increase/decrease their reputation, as well as you'll be asked for a reason for the rating (this is optional).
Once you've filled it (or not) click "Add rating" at the bottom of the page to apply the rate.

How do I rate Anonymously?

You can't.

There (currently) is no option to allow users to rate others anonymously.

How do I view my detailed ratings?

To see what your rating is, and who has given you what sort of ratings:
1- Click on your username to go to your profile.
2- In the left hand side of the forum, under your name, in the section marked: "Profile" you'll see:
Quote:Reputation: 0 [Details] [Rate]
3- Click the "details" link and you'll be taken to the detailed rating page.

Alternatively in each of your threads/posts, you can click the number beside "Reputation" to be taken to your reputation page.

I don't want to be a part of this rating system, can I opt out?

Unfortunately, there is no way for a single member to opt out of it. But if the entire forum decides they don't want this feature enabled anymore then I'll get rid of it.

Though if you keep getting rates, you can ask people to stop rating you. (As well as putting a note in your signature asking people not to rate you.) And you can ask me to reset your rating to 0 if it bothers you that much.

Though to be fair, if you ask not to be rated then please don't be rating others as it isn't fair to them.
