			<description><![CDATA[Looking back, the writing was on the wall. We've never been the busiest and most active community. We all lead busy lives and have had a ton of other commitments and aspects that take priority. But over the last while it's become apparent that things are unlikely to change. I can't revitalize the community by myself. There's only so much one person can do. It's time to call it quits. <br />
<br />
To that end, I'm shutting down the forum. I know in the past (on April 1st) that I've made that as a joke, but this time it's not. <br />
<br />
Starting on February 15th registrations will be disabled. No new accounts will be able to be created after that. I'm going to keep the site online until March (when the next server payment would be due) but after that the site will be gone. I'm not sure what, if anything, I'll do with the domain name. I might keep it and use it for other things. I mean it doesn't cost me that much to keep it. Or I might sell it (I might be able to get a few dollars for it.) <br />

I have no idea where I'll go from here. I'm probably not going to start another forum or become staff on another. If anything, maybe it's time to walk away from the whole forum world for a bit. I mean I've been doing this for over a decade now. I think it's time to take a break and do something else.<br />
<br />
I'm not going to get rid of the discord server as it's still used some and it doesn't cost me anything. So we can always still chat there. But as for the forum? It's time is up. So thank you everyone for the last decade. Thanks for sticking around, posting and sharing good times. <br />

			<description><![CDATA[The site has hit 9 years old. It's well beyond the age that most sites normally make it. <br />

Normally this is where I'd talk about things that I'm working on behind the scenes. But most of them have <a href="https://endlessfight.net/showthread.php?tid=3079" target="_blank">already been talked about</a>. The transition away from roleplay to gaming has already happened. Same for the upgrade to the backend software. The theme I have good to go, just unfortunately didn't get to actually install. (Work again has interfered.)<br />
<br />
However unlike other years I think it's time to do some reflection. Truth is that life has gotten busy for most members. We're not around as active as we once were. Sorry to say but it's months since most of the formerly active members have even signed on. Truth is that I don't want this forum to be all about me, but it seems like I'm the only one that actually posts now. Even on the discord server, it seems like it's mostly just me. And I'll admit that's kind of a reason why I haven't been in that big of a rush to make changes. (If it feels like I'm just doing it for my own sake.)<br />

That's why, as of now, I'm planning on closing the forum on February 15th 2020 if nothing really changes. (Endless Fight's 10th birthday.) 			<description><![CDATA[As 2018 draws to a close it's gotten me thinking again. Mostly about the year that's passed, things I wanted to do and didn't, things I intend to do and that kind of thing. <br />

I was crazy busy in the summer, as people might have noticed. My family definitely noticed... So I really didn't get a ton of time to do anything. <br />
<br />
This week though I had some time so I've put in place a few changes that I was thinking about earlier this year and moreso the last few days. One of the major core changes is the depreciation of the roleplay section. It's no longer visible unless you log in. <br />
I'm not getting rid of them by any stretch. However only members can see or post in them. <br />
Truth is though I haven't called myself a roleplayer in a very long time. I haven't had time for starters. And I think that it's a bit unfair to keep billing the site as a roleplay site when we really aren't anymore. So that's another thing that is going to be changing very soon.<br />
<br />
I've also gone ahead and moved the gaming stuff to it's own section. The plan is to develop that going forward into 2019. The references to roleplay will be removed and instead replaced with gaming. <br />
<br />
I know I've mentioned a new theme a few times but that is something that is finally happening. My plan is to have it done by Jan 4th 2019.<br />
<br />
There will be a bit of downtime leading up to the new theme (because I also have some back end changes to make too). But it shouldn't take more than an hour to have all that stuff done. So the downtime will likely not even be noticed.]]></description>

Last year I mentioned that SSL was coming and it was indeed implemented. It's worked remarkably well with no real downtime or issues that I've seen. (If anyone has noticed any, please let me know so I can look into what's going on.) <br />

The switch to Discord also happened and I'd like to think it's been well received.<br />

Going forward the next major task will be to update the forum software. I've been chipping away at this for some time. (It's been tough since the next version changed the way they handled themes. This essentially means rebuilding the theme from scratch. Which is also why I haven't released a new theme like I planned on. Not much point in releasing one only to have to then rebuild it after the update.)<br />

Also all of the mods I use need to be updated/replaced (which is another part of why this takes so long... in some cases I have to remake them completely). I'll probably have to hire someone though to fix one mod since I don't have the requisite skill/knowledge to handle solving it. (Involves extensive upgrading/reworking of a plugin.) But that's going to have to wait until likely April before I'll have enough money to do that.<br />

Members can log in right from their browser and post to discord without having to actually open discord up. <br />
Though guests are unable to post. (I'm not going to enable guest posting through Titan, even though it is an option, simply because of the potential for spam abuse.) So if someone wants to post... have to log in.<br />

I've only just enabled the new bot so I haven't spent a lot of time tweaking it's settings yet. (I may have to make the sidebar a bit wider for this bot...)<br />

But there's more going on behind the scenes too that I'm working on. Front and centre is bringing SSL to the site. At present there is still more testing to do. (I have to wait until March for it because the next phase of testing has to do with auto-renew and it doesn't expire until then.) But it is coming along nicely otherwise.<br />

Drill Claw:  By rotating her body using her speed she becomes a live projectile capable of drilling through her enemies straight ahead of her. Despite the name this does not mean she can drill underground or anything too dense.<br />
Flash Kick:  Executed with a moonsault backward from standing or while running. Fires a short range energy wave that only goes as far as the actual moonsault upwards, but if she happens to be running while performing the flash kick she fires the  projectile further and in a wider arc. <br />
Yellow Cyclone: When running in a circle  she can send her enemies flying upward, is also capable of sucking up airborne enemies.  The smaller the circle the more focused the damage is, but the bigger it is the more it can actually suck up. This does not work on heavier or stationary targets that are bolted down. <br />

Main Weapon:  Her Claws - When in combat her hands are her main weapons.  They might not look big at first ,but they can enlarge and with her speed these things are great for shredding through anything that gets in her way. <br />
Secondary Weapon: Whip Tail -  A whip with a built in super  heat coil capable of slashing through metal like a blade. Drill Claw:  By rotating her body using her speed she becomes a live projectile capable of drilling through her enemies straight ahead of her. Despite the name this does not mean she can drill underground or anything too dense.<br />
Flash Kick:  Executed with a moonsault backward from standing or while running. Fires a short range energy wave that only goes as far as the actual moonsault upwards, but if she happens to be running while performing the flash kick she fires the  projectile further and in a wider arc. <br />
Yellow Cyclone: When running in a circle  she can send her enemies flying upward, is also capable of sucking up airborne enemies.  The smaller the circle the more focused the damage is, but the bigger it is the more it can actually suck up. This does not work on heavier or stationary targets that are bolted down. <br />

Designed originally as a heavy weapons specialist for the Maverick Hunters but upon completion he refused his calling and instead went to work in a factory making reploids. Though when the factory was attacked by mavericks he attempted to defend the factory using a rapid bolt gun designed for mechaniloid construction. He repelled a few of the mavericks and destroyed at least one before they caught up with him. They were in the process of tearing Gat appart with their bare hands when  a team of Maverick Hunters arrived and saved the day.  The hunters managed to defeat the mavericks and save Gat. He made a mostly full recovery (save for a small scar on his right shoulder that didn't affect structural integrity but he kept as a reminder).  They congratulated him on risking his life and helping others. Again they offered him a position but he refused. Despite being grateful they saved him, he still held it against them that they took so long to arrive.<br />

Though in the attack he realised that maybe the Hunters were right. That he was wrong to reject his original purpose. But he refused to join the Hunters. Though a new team... Repliforce had gained traction and so Gat decided to join them.<br />

After joining he noted how comfortable he was with the rapid bolt gun so he decided to get customized for a mini-gun styled system. A weapon which was in line with his original purpose... Personality: Lucas Boltin is in many ways your typical scientist. His is curious and open to new ideas and gets excited by new discoveries. He has the temperament of an older man having led a full life alongside his maker and outlived him. He has a genuine desire to enhance the lives of reploids through science, and the passion and intelligence to do it. He is scholarly, an educator and a thinker. One of those scientists that spends more time thinking about whether something can be done than whether a thing should be done. His mistakes in the past have made him somewhat reclusive out of concern that others may be injured. Very good looking, fair, even a bit effeminate in a pretty sort of way, and popular with ladies who aren't looking for a more rugged man, though he isn't terribly close to anyone. He is very hard on himself, and pushes himself mentally and physically. <br />
<br />
Back Story: Lucas Boltin started out as a childhood science project built by Jonathan Boltin. As Jonathan grew older he continued to upgrade Lucas, who he came to think of as a brother, as well as his constant companion. The two were inseparable. One day the two of them were playing outside when a storm kicked up. As the thunder began Lucas recognized the danger that his metal body posed to his maker, he instructed Jonathan to lay flat on the ground and moved away from the boy. Sure enough, lightning struck Lucas- but instead of killing him outright he was merely knocked unconscious, and was fine after Jonathan replaced a couple of burnt circuits. To both of their surprise Lucas' body had broken down the lightning and compartmentalized the voltage so that only a nonlethal amount would be absorbed. The remainder of the charge still lingered in his systems. Jonathan would later grow up to become a professor at a prominent university, teaching classes on robotics and specializing in electrical engineering. Lucas worked with him as a teaching assistant, a lab partner and his most faithful friend. She utilizes this in combat by slamming her fists into the ground and launching boulders at enemies. She can also cause stone spires to erupt and impale careless foes. Head: His helmet is rounded, and has vents going out he sides of it like a crown. The top of his helmet is yellow and centered near the front is a single horn. <br />

Body: His chest is bulky and goes down to his abdominal section. His armor is red and has a yellow cross on it, with a repliforce emblem in the center of his chest. The yellow cross is filled with small pores for vents. His shoulders are rounded off, more half oval shaped and have vents in them like his head. <br />

Torso: Three flaps hang from his whist, one covering each of his thighs and one covering his front. Each is red and has a yellow stripe going down it.<br />

Legs: His legs are bulky and more squared, and have a spike on them at the top near his knee. Down the from of them is a yellow stripe and another one goes around them making another cross design. Like the others, these yellow parts are vents<br />

Weapon: A large sword, bladed on both ends, that is nearly as tall as Claymore himself. The blade has small vents on it, allowing it to channel Claymore's flames throughout it. <br />

Reason for joining Repliforce: <br />
When Repliforce was founded Claymore was offered a position. With this, there was a pay increase, as well as more of a chance to move up in rank and prove himself. Fighting mavericks was all he had known from creation, and so he felt it was his duty to stand firm to that. While he felt loyalty to the Hunters, he also found most of their actions and reports shady. Likewise he had a preference in working with Reploids, and not communication with humans. </div>

Head:  Designed after a military helmet, its rounded all around. In the front middle a V white gem glows. Where his ears would be are round cones, with a white light inside. Off of the right one comes an antenna, and a mic that leads down to his mouth. A light blue visor comes off the top and covers the eyes. White hair with small traces of black in it escapes the sides and the back a bit. <br />

Body: For light movement, the armor in the chest is rounded and goes down right below the lower abs. It is dark green in color. Down the right and left side are four white buttons, as well as painted white lines along the right side, and over the top to emulate a trench coat. The armor became more fabric like at the bottom and branches off as as a coat that flows down to the ankles. It becomes shoulder pads up on the shoulders where a white line goes across the top.<br />

Arms: The arms are bare until the elbows were the rounded basic reploid armor covers them. From the ends near the hand, a square bit hands out and goes over the back of the hand. A smaller white painted square is inside it. His hands are black. <br />
<br />
Legs: A green painted belt is at the waist, otherwise the armor is bare until the knees where imitated parade boots are placed. They are rectangular and hold a black toe as well as a crease in the middle where a white line goes diagonally down.  <br />

Weapon: Scopes Buster - A buster that has an extendable nose, and a scope that pops out atop it. The buster is more rectangle. (Based on the Scope buster from Command Mission)<br />

Back Story:  Scopes was built with the intent of serving the Repliforce. Upon creation he began to pursue a military career that would hopefully place him at the top. Many believe the scientist whom made Scopes was corrupted and disposed of. <br />

Body: Her armor is much like an amazon breastplate. It is white atop, and at the ribcage it becomes purple. The back of the her armor has a good sized thruster pack with two thruster's in it. with her cannon system installed. The cannons rest back when not in use, otherwise the come up over her shoulders. Her shoulder pads are rectangular, intended to support her cannons. They are both white with a purple trim.<br />
<br />
Torso: She has no torso armor, just a black latex like suit as most reploids have. Just a purple belt with an emerald belt buckle. Her saber he held on by this. <br />
<br />
Arms: Each arm is lightly armored from the elbow to wrist. The armor has less bulk than many other model units, but keeps the common ovelish look. her arms are white with a purple trim that goes about a third up her arm from the wrist. At the white-purple meet she has an emerald.<br />

Legs: Each leg is white with purple trimming. A diamond shaped emerald is in the middle of her legs. Each leg on the sides and back have a casing around a thruster that is used for her hover system. Allowing her to glides quickly across terrain in combat.<br />

Back Story: Joltz was a former Hunter who served alongside Overdrive Ostach. After his defection, she was left in control of his unit. It didn't take long however, for her to step down. The Doppler incident occurred and her unit was mostly taken by the Doppler Vaccine. While Repliforce was being formed after this incident, she immediately joined. Due to her rank at the Hunters, she was placed as a Captain in the force. From there she remained as a the trainer for Officers in Training.  <br />

Legs: His legs are bulky and more squared, and have a spike on them at the top near his knee. Down the from of them is a yellow stripe and another one goes around them making another cross design. Like the others, these yellow parts are vents<br />

Reason for joining Repliforce: <br />
When Repliforce was founded Claymore was offered a position. With this, there was a pay increase, as well as more of a chance to move up in rank and prove himself. Fighting mavericks was all he had known from creation, and so he felt it was his duty to stand firm to that. While he felt loyalty to the Hunters, he also found most of their actions and reports shady. Likewise he had a preference in working with Reploids, and not communication with humans. </div>

For the major one I've been working on a brand new theme... Entitled Civil War. I think it's a marvellous theme. So you should check it out. (If you spot any issues with it please let me know.)<br />

Though as part of the update to the theme I've changed up the chatbox. I updated the code from the older Flash-based code to the newer JS/HTML5 version (which works on mobile devices).<br />

Beyond that I've done a lot of shuffling of forums. (So if permissions aren't right just let me know and I'll fix them.)<br />

1- "Forum Roleplays" is no longer a category of it's own. Instead it's inside the Roleplay category. It still contains all it's regular forums, just they're sub-forums now.<br />
<br />
2- "Roleplay talk" category has been eliminated. (It only had 2 forums in it... "Roleplay talk" and "Roleplay Help") Roleplay Talk has been renamed "Roleplay Related" and has been moved to general discussion. Roleplay Help is now a sub-forum of Roleplay Related.<br />

This means that the entire site will be down while I'm working on it. I estimate that the work will take 4 hours (so by 8PM it should be back online). During this time the <a href="http://endlessfight.net/thread-1380.html" target="_blank">fallback site</a> will be live in case anything comes up.<br />

Edit - due to a scheduling conflict involving work I've just realized I've pushed the time back 2 hours. I hope not to have to change it again but it may end up that I start later than that ( depending on how quick I get done at work).]]></description>

Beyond that there really isn't a lot to announce just yet. I've been working on a new theme (several actually) but they're still not ready yet. I've been sidetracked by various issues along the way. (The sudden switch of hosts back in September didn't help.)<br />

			<description><![CDATA[It's come to my attention that emails aren't being sent out when they otherwise should be. This issue affects registrations and personal message notifications mostly (but of course there could be other things it affects).<br />

I'm currently working on getting this problem fixed however it's somewhat slow going.  So for now all registrations must be manually approved (so if you've recently registered or are planning on registering, please let me know by using our <a href="http://endlessfight.net/showthread.php?tid=125" target="_blank">various contact methods</a> or by <a href="http://endlessfight.net/forum-18.html" target="_blank">posting in our Visitor Lodge area</a> so I can validate your account).<br />

Essentially our host is closing at the end of the year. But why am I mentioning this now? Well... because our bill is due soon so instead of renewing for 6 months (which would put me into March, well after the host would have closed...) I plan to only renew for a month at most while I transfer over to another host.<br />

I do not yet have a host lined up for certain. However I do have several candidates I am evaluating. And I've sought further options from some people I know and trust regarding hosts.<br />
<br />
This also means that there will be some downtime coming once I know for certain which host we'll be going with and when exactly this will happen. I'll update you when I have more info.]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[Endless Fight is now part of GamingForce]]></title>

He made a very reasonable offer and I've accepted. So as of this minute, Demon_skeith is the new owner of Endless Fight. <br />

Now, as you might have noticed, for the impending change of ownership, I've recreated GamingForce's skin for us to use. So we can get use to being part of the GamingForce family. In the near future (once we perfect the code for it) we'll enable a method to easily login to both sites at once (so no need to create a new account or anything like that).<br />
